For the seventh consecutive season, the Emerson women's volleyball team has received the 2021-22 Division III United States Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award, as announced on July 18th. The Lions were also selected for the Team Academic Award Honor Roll, which recognizes the top 20% of team GPAs in each division.
Initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, the USMC/AVCA honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale. At the Division III level, 212 institutions were given the Team Academic Award.
The Emerson women's volleyball team has been recognized for the seventh straight season and are one of eight NEWMAC schools who were selected. During the 2021-22 season, Emerson finished 17-8 and 6-4 in conference play and included a trip to the NEWMAC Tournament.
