The Emerson women's volleyball team has officially announced their 2022 fall schedule that sees the Lions playing in 23 games, including 12 at home and 11 away from Boston. Women's volleyball's season begins on September 1st.
Emerson kicks off their 2022 campaign out on the road in Worcester to begin September where they will take on Assumption College. After a trip to Worcester, the Lions dive into their home schedule on September 4th with an early morning tri-match, facing Simmons and Manhattanville. The home slate continues on September 8th with a visit from Brandeis before heading on the road again on the 10th for more tri-match play out at Western New England.
September 13th has Emerson taking on their first NEWMAC opponent of the new season and host MIT for a crosstown slate. The Lions take on Johnson & Wales (RI) two days later before reentering conference play out at WPI on September 17th.
September closes out with three matches that include one out of conference opponent in Rivier (September 20th) and back-to-back NEWMAC foes. The Lions trek to Blake Arena on September 24th for a NEWMAC Quarterfinal rematch with Springfield, whom the Purple & Gold swept during the 2021 regular season. Emerson's next NEWMAC matchup has the Lions out at Wellesley on September 27th.
October is when women's volleyball enters the heart of their NEWMAC schedule with three of four conference matches to open the month. The Lions begin at home hosting Coast Guard on the first and make their way to Babson and Wentworth to wrap the second week.
Within the last three weeks of the regular season, Emerson will play five of their final eight matches down at Brown & Plofker.
Smith and Salve Regina head to Boston on the 11th and 15th, respectively, with Emerson then taking one last trip to Worcester on the 18th to face Clark. After Clark, Emerson welcomes Endicott for an out-of-league matchup on the 20th before they end the week at Amherst on the 22nd.
Women's volleyball enters another busy three-match week to end October beginning on the 25th hosting Wheaton (Mass.). The Lions then make their way across town for their last non-NEWMAC slate at Mass.-Boston on the 27th. The 2022 regular season comes to a close with a senior day celebration on the 29th against Mount Holyoke.
