Jesse Compher and Callie Shanahan of Boston University women's ice hockey were selected to the U.S. IIHF World Championship and Collegiate Series rosters, respectively, USA Hockey announced Sunday. Both will begin competing with their teams later this month.
Compher is one of 18 members on the IIHF Women's World Championship roster that return from the silver medal 2022 U.S. Olympic Women's Hockey team. This marks her fourth world championship roster selection, previously winning gold in 2019 and silver in 2021. Compher and the U.S. will take the ice in Denmark on Aug. 25.
Shanahan will make her second international appearance for the U.S. in the collegiate series. The Hockey East All-Rookie Team select notably helped the U.S. to gold at the IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship in 2020. The Collegiate Series team will compete against Canada in a three-game series on Aug. 17, 18 and 20 in Calgary.
