After anchoring a backline that recorded four shutouts last fall, Boston University men's soccer senior Gianluca Arlotti has received Preseason All-Patriot League recognition, the conference office announced Wednesday morning.
The Monaco native was just one of three defenders to earn the honor. He played a team-high 1,338 minutes in 2021 while starting 14 of 15 games played en route to All-PL Second Team accolades.
His efforts helped the Terriers finish the season 3-1-2 with shutouts against Bucknell and Colgate along with a pair of 3-1 victories against in-state rivals Northeastern and Holy Cross. BU previously blanked Navy and Merrimack as well.
Arlotti will get the 2022 season underway at former America East rival Albany on Thursday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m.
