After helping the Boston University women's ice hockey team sweep No. 12 UConn, Freshman Brooke Disher and senior Nadia Mattivi of were named the Hockey east Pro Ambitions Rookie of the week and the Army ROTC Defender of the Week, respectively, the conference announced Monday.
Disher had an impactful weekend in the home-and-home series with UConn. In the road contest, she scored the game-winner to help the Terriers to a 2-1 win over the Huskies with her first goal of the season. She also picked up an assist on BU's fourth goal in the 5-2 win at home on Saturday.
Mattivi also had a two-point weekend in the series with UConn. On the road, she tallied an assist on Disher's goal early in the second period to close out the scoring. At home, she found the back of the net on a power-play chance to give the Terriers their second goal of the game, making it her third of the season.
The Terriers will return to action on Friday when they head to Las Vegas to take on No. 6 Yale in the opening round of the Henderson College Hockey Showcase. Game time at Lifeguard Arena is set for 4 p.m. ET.
