Weimar Named Patriot League Player Of The Week

Boston University women's basketball junior Caitlin Weimar was selected as the Patriot League Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 21, the league announced on Monday afternoon.

Weimar collects her first weekly award as a Terrier. This marks her first-career conference Player of the Week honor, and sixth total league weekly award. She is the first Terrier to be named Patriot League Player of the Week since teammate Sydney Johnson on Jan. 31, 2022.

In two wins for BU last week, Weimar averaged a double-double with 16.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and three blocks per game on 68.2 percent shooting. She registered 18 points and 13 boards while tying a career-high with eight baskets made in the win over UMass Lowell. She followed that up with 15 points, 10 caroms, and four blocks of 7-of-11 shooting in the victory over Hartford.

On the year, Weimar is averaging 13.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks while hitting over 55 percent of her shots across four games. She ranks top-20 in the nation in double-doubles (tied for sixth), blocks (T-13th), and blocks per game (17th).

BU (2-2) looks for its third win in a row when it hosts St. Francis Brooklyn on Wednesday (Nov. 23). Opening tip is scheduled for 1 p.m.
