  • BU improved to 2-1 with a convincing 12-6 win at then-No. 20/18 UMass last Saturday.
  • The Terriers never trailed, using a 5-0 run in the first half to pull away.
  • Seniors Vince D'Alto (5g) and Louis Perfetto (1g, 4a) paced the BU offense with five points apiece against a UMass defense and goalkeeper that entered the day ranked first in the NCAA with 5.50 goals against per game.
  • D'Alto, the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, Perfetto and graduate student Timmy Ley combined for eight of the Terriers' 12 goals at UMass, with at least one of the three scoring or assisting on 11 of the 12 goals.
  • Senior Patrick Morrison was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight Monday after he led BU defense that held UMass scoreless for the final 20:52 of the contest and limited the Minutemen to just 26 shot attempts for the game.
  • Morrison also collected three ground balls and caused two turnovers; he leads BU with nine caused turnovers.
  • The Terriers are second in the nation with 13.33 caused turnovers per game, behind only Bucknell at 14.0.
  • Morrison is fourth in the country with an average of 3.0 caused turnovers per game while classmate Roy Meyer, who led the nation with 58 caused turnovers in 2022, is seventh in the NCAA with 2.67 caused turnovers per game.
  • BU is first in the NCAA with an average of 40.67 ground balls per game.
  • This is the Terriers' first home game since they defeated Army West Point, 14-10, in the Patriot League championship contest.
  • BU went 8-2 at home last season, with both losses coming to ranked opponents.

HISTORY WITH COLGATE

  • BU is 7-4 in 11 meetings with Colgate, though the Terriers have won four straight regular-season showdowns with the Raiders dating back to 2020.
  • The Terriers cruised to an 18-6 victory at Colgate last season.
  • In the Terriers' last four victories against Colgate, they have averaged 15.25 goals per game.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS

  • Colgate enters Saturday 0-2 after losing by a combined three goals to Air Force (11-10) and Hobart (10-8).
  • Sophomore Rory Connor, (3g, 3a), junior Michael Minicus (3g, 2a) and sophomore Ben Trumble (3g) are all tied for the team lead with three goals apiece.
  • Connor also leads Colgate in assists (3) and points (3).
  • Senior Thomas Colucci has won 21 of the 39 faceoffs he has taken for a .538 win percentage in addition to scoring one goal and gathering 10 ground balls.
  • Sophomore Max Yates leads the Raiders with six caused turnovers and has also collected seven ground balls.
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Matt LaCombe has started both games for Colgate, posting a 10.50 goals-against average and a .488 save percentage.
