Black Lives Matter contributions made by Suffolk County organizations

By March 22, seven organizations registered within Suffolk County had donated to the Black Lives Matter movement, according to the BLM Funding Database.

$144,300,000 was donated or pledged by these companies between 2020 and the present date.

Bain & Company pledged the highest donation among area organizations and businesses, claiming to commit $101,000,000 to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Of the seven organizations which pledged to donate to Black Lives Matter in recent years, three of them were confirmed to have fulfilled their pledge and actually donated the amount of money they said they would. It's unclear or unknown if the other organizations followed through with their pledges.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated$4,000,000Vertex and the Vertex Foundation committed $4M to support racial equity and social justice. Includes a $1.5M contribution to Kendi's Center for Antiracist Research and a commitment to Equal Justice Works.
Liberty Mutual Group$2,000,000$1M donated to the Equal Justice Initiative. $1M donated to social justice organizations as part of an employee charitable gift matching program in the wake of George Floyd's death (including the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Race Forward, Equal Justice Initiative, National Urban League, Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and the Black Lives Matter Foundation).
General Electric Company$1,000,000$1M plan to increase diversity and economic inclusion.
