WASHINGTON, D.C. — On July 11, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) issued the following statement on the Biden-Harris Administration’s action to lower the cost of child care for 80,000 families and improve financial stability for nearly 200,000 child care providers:

“President Biden and Vice President Harris understand that child care is economic infrastructure. It allows parents to get to work and businesses to thrive. With this announcement, the Administration is advancing Democrats' work to grow the economy by growing the middle class: lowering costs for families and supporting the vital care workers who enable all other work.

“For too long, the lack of affordable, accessible child care has kept families from getting ahead. Democrats started tackling this challenge with the American Rescue Plan and our implementation of the CHIPS and Science Act. Today, we are once again putting Bidenomics into action by investing in the American people, empowering our workforce, and adding breathing room to family budgets.”
