WASHINGTON, D.C. – On July 12, Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (MA-5) released the following statement on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ June 2023 inflation report showing that inflation has fallen to three percent from a high of over nine percent just one year ago:
“Bidenomics is working. Under President Biden’s leadership, Democrats have rebuilt our economy by growing the middle class. We’ve invested in the American people, lowered health care and energy costs, created over 13 million jobs, and brought manufacturing back to our shores. Inflation has declined faster than any other G7 nation, falling for 12 consecutive months while wages rise. As a result, families have more money in their pockets, bigger paychecks, and more opportunities to get ahead.
“While we confront an extreme Republican agenda hell-bent on putting the wealthy over working families, Democrats will continue putting the needs of everyday Americans front and center.”
