There was one gas station in cities across Suffolk County selling diesel at the lowest price of $4.19 per gallon in the week ending Aug. 5, according to GasBuddy.com.

The average cost of diesel in cities within Suffolk County was $4.57 per gallon.

There are 68 gas stations in cities within Suffolk County.

The average price of diesel in Massachusetts was $4.19, compared to $4.09 the week before.

The U.S. government missed the mark when forecasting gas prices for 2022. A short-term outlook published early in 2022 claimed gas rates would fall, when in fact gas rates rose significantly.

The outlook once again suggested that prices would fall in 2023.

Gas data refers to the price of gas when paid for by cash, not credit. Gas stations can charge drivers more for using credit cards due to surcharge fees. This is prohibited in 10 U.S. states.
