The Harvard women’s soccer program announced on Mar. 26 that ten of its former athletes have advanced to play professional soccer across six countries and two continents. The announcement highlights the diverse paths these alumni have taken since leaving the Crimson, with several joining clubs in North America and Europe.
The news underscores the impact of Harvard’s program in preparing players for success at higher levels of competition. The list includes recent graduates as well as established professionals who continue to represent their alma mater on international stages.
Nicola Golen joined Ottawa Rapid in the Northern Super League in 2025, scoring her first career goal and signing an extension through 2026 after making 42 appearances for Harvard from 2021-24. Jade Rose signed with Manchester City in July 2025, starting most matches this season as her team leads England’s Women’s Super League by a significant margin; she played 53 times for the Crimson.
Josefine Hasbo has already built an impressive résumé, including participation in Gotham FC’s championship run last season, competing at major international tournaments such as the World Cup and Euros, and winning Denmark’s league title with Brøndby IF at age seventeen. She now plays for Boston Legacy after recording 25 goals and 17 assists over 55 games at Harvard. Hannah Bebar moved to Bay FC early last year and has made regular appearances following a college career where she scored or assisted on more than forty goals.
Other notable alumni include Anna Karpenko (Montreal Roses), Midge Purce (Gotham FC), Lara Schenk (FC Carlzeiss Jena), Audrey Francois (Vancouver Rise), Aslaug Gunlaugsdottir (Parma Club), and Murphy Agnew (RCSA France). Their achievements range from league championships to national team call-ups.
This group demonstrates both individual talent developed during their time at Harvard and the broad reach of collegiate athletics into global professional opportunities.
