The Tufts men’s lacrosse team secured its sixth NCAA title with a 17-11 victory over Rochester Institute of Technology on May 24 at the University of Virginia. The win marks the program’s third consecutive national championship and extends the senior class record to 85-5 over four years, finishing this season at 22-1.
This achievement places Tufts among a select group, as it is the first time since Salisbury University from 2003 to 2005 that a team has earned three NCAA Division III crowns in succession. The consistency and success of the senior class have been highlighted throughout their collegiate careers.
“I love this senior class so much,” said head coach Casey D’Annolfo. “It’s been a pretty incredible journey with this group, 85-5 record across four years, and just enjoyed every minute of it. And just so proud that the end of their freshmen year we walked off the field having lost a national championship, and I think it’s pretty cool that they get to walk off as a senior class winning the national championship.”
Senior Jack Regnery was named NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Most Outstanding Player after scoring three goals and two assists in the final. Regnery finished his postseason run with 31 points over five games and set an all-time tournament record for goals scored in Division III history.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jack Old made 17 saves during the game, while Brooks Hauser contributed three goals and two assists. Other notable performances included Will Emsing with two goals and three assists, Garrett Kelly with three goals on as many shots on goal, Victor Salcedo winning nine out of fifteen face-offs, Logan Lee causing three turnovers, and Cole Friedlander sealing the victory late in regulation.
With this latest title added to previous championships in 2010, 2014, 2015, and 2024, Tufts continues its strong tradition in men’s lacrosse competition.
