Freshman Wendy Li won the individual title at the SHU Spring Break Invite by one stroke as the Boston University women’s golf team finished fourth in its spring opener at Eagle Harbor Golf Club on March 17.

Li entered the final round with a one-stroke lead and maintained her advantage, shooting a 77 to edge out Fairfield’s Addie Change and Manhattan’s Jayden Peters for her first collegiate victory. On the last hole, Li recovered from a drive into the woods, returned to the fairway, and hit a wedge shot from 86 yards to within four feet of the hole. She then made her putt for par to secure the win.

Junior Amy Han achieved her third top-10 finish of the season, placing seventh with a total score of plus-9 (74-79–153). Senior Annika Manjunath recorded Boston University’s best round of the day with a plus-2 74, finishing at plus-13 alongside junior Hibiki Adachi (74-83–157).

Freshman Monica Wu, competing in her first collegiate tournament, placed 22nd after rounds of 74 and 83 for a plus-15 finish. Classmate Sophia Zhang finished in 27th place at plus-20 (81-83–164), just ahead of junior Madison Takai who ended with a score of plus-21 (83-82–165).

Boston University placed fourth among six teams with an overall score of 624 (303-321). Sacred Heart University hosted the tournament and claimed the team title by narrowly defeating Manhattan by one stroke.

The Terriers are scheduled to compete next at the GSU Invitational on March 30–31 at Rivermont Golf Club in Johns Creek, Georgia.
