Cost of college went up for all students at Newbury College

Tuition and fees rose 3.1 percent for 2018-19 at Newbury College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Massachusetts students paid $35,540 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,070 more than the $34,470 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 170 students received grants or scholarships totaling $4.5 million and 147 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (636), 566 students used grants or scholarships totaling $13 million, and 516 students took out $3.4 million in federal student loans.
