Men's Tennis Earns 2021-22 ITA Division III Men's All-Academic Team Award

The Emerson men's tennis team placed six members on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) 2022 Division III Men's Tennis Scholar-Athletes Team, announced on July 13th. The men's tennis program was also selected as one of the 125 institutions on the Division III Women's All-Academic Teams list. 

All six members of the men's tennis team were recognized on the Scholar-Athletes Team, including: 

Bass Lin

Ryu Watanabe

Cooper Sherman

Pete Sevikul 

Daniel Kennedy 

Maximo Lawlor 

For 2022, 940 Division III Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and 125 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team accolade. Emerson was one of three NEWMAC teams on the list, which included both Babson and MIT. 

To be selected as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, an athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, the team grade point average must be 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
