Men's Basketball's Jarred Houston Named To Top 100 Bevo Francis Watchlist
On Tuesday, January 17th, Small College Basketball released its first watchlist for the Top 100 Bevo Francis Award for the 2022-23 campaign. The first list features 100 players from Division II, Division III, NAIA, USCAA, and NCCAA men's basketball. Emerson men's basketball graduate center, Jarred Houston, was selected to the Top 100 watchlist and is the lone NEWMAC student-athlete represented on the list.
The award was created in 2015 and is named after Clarence "Bevo" Francis. Francis plated two seasons at what is now the University of Rio Grande. In his first season, he led the team to a 39-0 overall record, averaging 50.1 points per game, highlighted by an 116-point performance against Ashland College in Kentucky.
The list will be cut three more times before a winner is announced on April 3rd.
