HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Out the gate of the first, Emerson found themselves in a seven-point hole and soon faced an 11-point deficit with 4:57 on the clock on Zambrano's pull up jumper. Hill and Gibbons registered four points to pull Emerson within seven, but Clark used an 8-2 spurt to separate themselves by 13 at 23-10.
  • Junior Quinn O'Connor got two free throws at the four second mark and put Emerson with 11 at the end of the first with the score at 23-12.
  • Emerson continued to trail from a double-digit margin through the first four and a half minutes of the second, but capitalized on a three missed shots by the Cougars to embark on 12-2 spurt and inch within a pair at 31-29.
  • Clark got three quick points in the final 48 seconds of the second frame as Emerson entered the break down five, 34-29.
  • The opening two minutes of the third saw Clark string a 9-2 together as Emerson once again fell to within double-digits at 43-31 when Schatzabel laid in a layup at 7:58.
  • At the 6:37 mark, Emerson began to battle back and chipped away at Clark's once dominant lead over the next six minutes. The Lions embarked on a 19-8 tear that consisted of nine points from Bushee and Deslauriers' pair of triples and allowed the hosts to claw within one at 51-50.
  • With eight seconds left in the third, Richey dropped a jumper and put Emerson within three with the score 53-50 to wrap the quarter.
  • 2:25 went by in the fourth with no scoring before Schatzabel's free throw trip broke the scoreless run at 7:34 and lifted Clark back up five at 55-50.
  • Down nine after Mariah Harris' jumper fell through (63-54), Emerson used the perimeter to erase Clark's lead and used back-to-back trifecta from Deslauriers and Salti to ignite a 15-2 spark.
  • Emerson's 15-2 spark pushed them in front for the first time all game with the run capped off by Salti's fourth three-point bucket and sat in front by four at 69-65 with 1:37 left in the fourth.
  • Clark used their next possession to drain a three of their own and put the score at 69-68 just 13 seconds later. This, however, would ultimately become the Cougar's final bucket of regulation.
  • In the final 53 seconds of the fourth, Emerson cashed in the final five points to complete the 74-68 comeback victory.
