Student-to-teacher ratio in Match Charter Public School District fell in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Match Charter Public School District fell by 8.4% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 1,225 students being taught by 124.5 teachers in Match Charter Public School District, which covers schools within Suffolk County and has a main office in Boston. That's an average of 9.8 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Match Charter Public School District had 1,213 students and 113.5 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.
