Boston Public Schools had the highest enrollment among Suffolk County districts, welcoming 46,169 students during the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.8% of them were boys, and 48.1% were girls.

The most represented ethnicity among Boston Public Schools students was Hispanic, accounting for 43% of the student population.

Among the 26 districts in Suffolk County, Revere Public Schools ranked second in enrollment numbers with 7,141 students, while Chelsea Public Schools welcomed 6,074 students and ranked third in the 2021-22 school year.
