A federal court in Boston sentenced Aderito Patrick Amado, 34, to 32 years in prison for leading a drug trafficking operation that distributed fentanyl, its analogue, and cocaine across Quincy and Weymouth. The sentencing by U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young includes an additional 10 years of supervised release following the prison term.

Amado was convicted in June 2024 on multiple counts including possession with intent to distribute large quantities of fentanyl and cocaine, conspiracy charges, and firearm offenses as a felon. "Mr. Amado was the leader of an organization that pumped multiple kilograms of dangerous and deadly drugs into our communities," said Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy.

The investigation revealed that Amado's operation was centered around a stash house in Weymouth with evidence found at his Quincy apartment and vehicle. Authorities recovered over $270,000 in cash, firearms, ammunition, and extensive drug paraphernalia during searches.

Jodi Cohen from the FBI highlighted the scale of Amado's operation: "Aderito Patrick Amado and his crew were a crime wave unto themselves." She emphasized the impact on the community amid an ongoing opioid crisis.

Quincy Police Chief Mark Kennedy expressed gratitude for the collaboration among law enforcement agencies: "Taking this individual off the streets undoubtedly saved lives in our community."

Amado's co-defendants Erica Vieira, Neylton Fontes, and Chaasad Cyprien have also faced legal proceedings with varying sentences after pleading guilty to related charges.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation aimed at dismantling high-level criminal organizations threatening public safety.
