On the following day, March 29, 2025, Pressley reported a concerning incident involving her constituent, Rümeysa Öztürk, whom she claimed was abducted by DHS officials. According to Pressley, "This week, my Somerville constituent Rümeysa Öztürk was abducted in broad daylight by DHS officials and sent to Louisiana to be locked in a detention center. She has not been charged with any crime."
