A Boston man has admitted guilt in a case involving his participation in a violent gang known as Cameron Street. Felisberto Lopes, also referred to as "Chee-B," entered a guilty plea for charges including conspiracy to engage in racketeering, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and multiple counts of being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young has set the sentencing date for February 6, 2025.

Lopes is identified as a member of Cameron Street, a gang based primarily in Dorchester that engages in violence to maintain its territory and reputation. The gang uses social media to promote its activities and intimidate rivals. According to court documents, members carry out various illegal activities such as distributing drugs and firearms, committing armed robberies, and engaging in human trafficking.

During the investigation, Lopes was found distributing firearms and cocaine to an informant. In February 2022, law enforcement responded to a shooting at Lopes' residence where they seized cocaine, cash, and ammunition leading to his arrest. Lopes had previously been convicted of aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.

The RICO conspiracy charge could result in up to 20 years imprisonment along with supervised release and fines. Possession with intent to distribute cocaine carries a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years due to prior convictions. Being a felon with firearm possession can lead up to ten years imprisonment.

This case is part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Strike Force Initiative which targets high-level criminal organizations through multi-agency collaboration.

The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy along with other law enforcement officials from various agencies involved in the operation. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Christopher Pohl and Charles Dell’Anno are handling the prosecution.

Other defendants remain presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
