BOSTON – Vying for its best start to Patriot League play in program history, the Boston University women's basketball program hosts Navy on Wednesday (Jan. 18). Opening tip is set for 6 p.m.

Having started league action 6-0 in back-to-back seasons, BU aims to start 7-0 for the first time in 10 seasons as a Patriot League member, and first time in conference play since the 2011-12 campaign. BU's longest win streak against Patriot League competition is also seven games, taking place in 2019-20.

Navy vies for its first winning streak of the year after its initial victory in its last game. The Mids have lost their first eight games on the road, and will play three of their next four games away from Maryland.

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • BU captured its sixth-consecutive win on Sunday (Jan. 15), defeating Army West Point on the road, 68-52.
  • The Terriers recorded a season-high with a .527 shooting percentage, outscoring the Black Knights 18-10 in the fourth quarter after Army trimmed a 13-point gap to two in the third.
  • Senior Sydney Johnson filled the stat sheet with 14 points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
  • Junior Caitlin Weimar added 12 points, seven rebounds, and four blocks.
  • Sophomores Lauren Davenport and Alex Giannaros each scored 11 points.
  • With her effort, Johnson moved up to 23rd place on BU's all-time scoring list, surpassing Alicia Charles '98 and Mary O'Connor '84.
  • The Powder Springs, Ga. native also hit her 400th-career field goal in the victory.
  • Senior Maren Durant needs two more blocks to become the third Terrier in program history to reach 150 in her career. Debbie Miller-Palmore (260) and Kasey Devine (154) are the only Terriers to previously achieve that feat.
  • Entering Tuesday (Jan. 17), BU remained first in the nation with a .415 three-point percentage. Gonzaga (.412), Illinois (.410), and Colorado State (.407) trail closely behind.
  • The Terriers also rank first in the Patriot League in blocks per game (4.6), field goal percentage (.437), rebounds per game (39.3), defensive rebounds per game (29.1), rebounding margin (+5.3), and scoring margin (+7.9).
  • Since the start of the 2019-20 season, the Terriers have gone 38-14 against Patriot League opponents in the regular season.
  • BU has a three-game winning streak at Case Gym, and has won six of the last seven games at The Roof.

SCOUTING NAVY

  • In that game, Navy shot nearly 45 percent from the field. Maren Louridas paced the Mids with 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting.
  • Navy's losses have come to BU, Lafayette, Lehigh, Colgate, and Holy Cross, who are a combined 21-9 in league play to start.
